Amazon has acquired Twitch, the world’s leading video platform and community for gamers, for more than $1 billion according to reports from The Information and Wall Street Journal. Google’s YouTube was thought to have originally been the winning bidder, but according to both publications, news of Amazon’s acquisition could come as early as Monday afternoon in a surprising turn of events.
