Many Apple Watch shipping times improve slightly from July to June

Apple-watch-stainless-steel

Apple has slightly improved shipping times for some Apple Watch models with almost all 42mm versions of its mid-range stainless steel Apple Watch now shipping as early as June, up from a previous shipping estimate of July.

That means customers ordering today could get their Apple Watch a couple weeks sooner if they ship on the earlier end of the new “5-7 week” shipping estimate. Almost all of the 42mm models of the Apple Watch have improved to 5-7 weeks, apart from the black stainless steel model that changed to 6-7 weeks vs the old July shipping estimate.

Some of Apple’s Sport models, such as the white and space gray models, have also changed from July to 6-7 weeks, potentially getting the device into customers’ hands a week or so earlier than the previous shipping estimates of “July”.

Those that already ordered their device are also starting to see shipping estimates for their order change from July to a new date in the 5-7 week timeframe.

Earlier today vice-chairman of Apple supplier Quanta reportedly acknowledged limited shipments of Apple Watch and said manufacturing capacity is now fully up to speed. With today being the first time we’ve seen shipping times for these most popular models of the device improve, it’s likely we’ll see shipping times drop more in the near future.

Yesterday, the Space Black stainless steel models, one of the last models to start shipping to customers, started arriving for those that preordered on day one. Our hands-on with the device is here.
