Beats Music, a new streaming music service from music mogul Jimmy Lovine, musician and producer Dr. Dre and other industry figures, is about to extend to the iPad soon.
According to the startup’s teaser image shared on Twitter – captioned with the ‘Something Big is Coming’ tagline – the iPhone-only app should soon be available on Apple’s tablet, too.
The $9.99 per month service launched on January 20 and is still struggling to hit the ground running despite an impressive set of features and a library of over 20 million songs that can be streamed on-demand to the iPhone, Windows Phone and Android devices and to your web browser…... I’m sure Jeff would have liked to share the news himself, but since he’s currently unavailable, I’ll be the one to announce that Hold2Speak is now available in Cydia.

It’s easy to forget about Hulu amid the heated battle between Amazon and Netflix for the digital distribution of premium entertainment and original content.
As you know, for quite some time this service has been offering on-demand streaming video of TV shows and Hollywood movies, free of charge with some ads. However, on desktops only.
This is about to change as Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins announced at a press event in New York this morning that beginning this summer non-subscribers will be able to stream ad-supported content on mobile devices, marking a major shift in strategy for this over-the-top video service.
They’ll also issue a redesigned iPhone app around the same time this summer…... Read the rest of this post here

AirDrop is such a good feature, but on a jailbroken iPhone it’s been turned into a great feature. That’s because there’s AnyDrop 2—a jailbreak tweak that supercharges the concept of AirDrop, and makes it accessible for any file on the native file system.
Imagine iFile with AirDrop sharing, and you pretty much have AnyDrop. It’s more than that, though, because AnyDrop allows you to share media files from your Music app library, Video app library, and Photo app library. It even comes bundled with a hidden feature that lets you download and share YouTube videos called YouTubeDrop.
Needless to Say, AnyDrop 2 is a great jailbreak tweak to have if you’re interested in getting more than the pedestrian experience out of AirDrop. Watch our video after the break to see what I mean.... Read the rest of this post here

Feeling a little sneaky? Want to access Facebook’s internal settings for its iOS app? If you’re jailbroken, it’s extremely easy to gain access by means of a handy new jailbreak tweak.

One of the most popular types of games in the App Store is the physics-based aim-to-shoot kind. We can attribute the success of the genre to Angry Birds. It may not have been the first, but it was certainly the most popular. If you are a fan of physics-based games, but are getting tired of the same old slingshot style mechanics, there is a new bird in town.

As you know, Apple has not yet opened up the iPhone’s virtual keyboard to developers so you can’t just go into the App Store and replace the stock iOS keyboard with a custom one, like on Android.
But where some see failures, others like Fleksy see opportunities. For those unfamiliar with Fleksy, it’s the first alternate keyboard with gestures available to third-party developers across the entire iOS ecosystem.
Also available on Android, Fleksy Keyboard has seen over a million cumulative downloads across platforms, with about half of the downloads coming from iOS.

Samsung said profit fell for a second straight quarter as sales in its smartphone division continued to dip. The South Korean electronics giant announced its earnings for Q1 2014 this morning, and its operating profits for the period fell 3.3% from the year-ago-quarter.

Every now and then I stumble upon a feature that I would like to have on the iPhone, but usually I end up forgetting about it, or just stashing it away for later. Sometimes, though, I get enough gumption to push for an idea to be brought to fruition. TypeStatus was a good example of that, and it turned out pretty well. Others haven’t turned out so well, but it doesn’t hurt to keep trying.
This latest concept is something that I’ve been marinating on for quite some time. It’s called Hold2Speak, and it allows you to answer a call directly in speaker phone mode by tapping and holding the Answer button. Normal taps on the Answer button would still use the headset as a means of communicating with the other party.
I’ve created a video walkthrough for the Hold2Speak concept. Would you consider using something like this? If the demand is high enough, perhaps one of the community’s developers wouldn’t mind taking on such a project. Check inside for the video and details.... Read the rest of this post here
